Financial support and how to apply Photo: Melker Dahlstrand/imagebank.sweden.se melker@dahlstrand.se Sharingsweden.se offers a comprehensive collection of resources about Sweden, produced by the Swedish Institute (SI). These resources are intended for an international audience with an interest in Sweden and the Swedes.
Most of the resources are open to the public and free to use. Some resources are only accessible to Sweden’s foreign missions abroad, due to copyright issues. To access these files, one must make a request to use the material.
There are two types of applications: the first one is a request to use material, and the second one is financial support for costs surrounding the toolkit activation.
The application When filling out the application, make sure to be as informative as possible, detailing everything there is to know about the planned activity. The application should be submitted at least two months before the event.
By filling out the application form, you agree to respect the copyright agreement for all material included in a toolkit or film package.
You apply through the customer portal The application is made through the Swedish Institute (SI) customer portal. If you don't yet have an account, you will need to create one before making your toolkit application. Once your account has been approved, you can log in and make an application
Create an account or log in Financial resources Applications for Sweden promotion activities in 2024 All of Sweden's foreign missions abroad may apply for an unlimited number of toolkits, including support and advice from a project manager at SI. There is no maximum amount for toolkit funding for Sweden promotion in 2024, but as resources are limited, funding may not be available at all times.
Please note that financial support for most toolkits should primarily cover local production costs for the toolkit material as well as costs for an invited guest speaker. Some other costs related to an event such as venue or communication can be applied for but only as a minor part of the budget.
Catering costs are only covered for Study in Sweden and Sweden alumni relations events.
Baltic Sea regional cooperation Sweden's foreign missions in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Russia, and Ukraine may apply for 100,000 SEK/year for promotion of Baltic Sea regional cooperation aiming at Sustainable development and strengthened global competitiveness in the region or Greater integration between EU Member States and the countries in the EU’s Eastern Partnership and Russia .
Alumni events and activities Sweden's foreign missions may apply for 50,000 SEK/year for alumni related events and activities.

Higher education promotion Financial support will be provided for:
Participation in student fairs organised by a third party Student recruitment events organised by the foreign mission Pre-departure events for select countries More information in the toolkit: Financial support for Study in Sweden
General information The financial support only covers activities in 2024 and for the project period stated in the application. Financial support is granted continuously. Remaining funds must be returned to UD-EKO as soon as the project period is over, in accordance with the below information on repayments.
Resources are limited, and funding may not be available at all times.
Report after completed event Foreign missions must fill out the project report for toolkits after the completed event or activation. After the end of the project (the end date in your application), you can make your report via the SI customer portal .
For toolkits used in 2023 or earlier, before you could apply via the portal, please use this report form: Project report 2023
Repayments If more than 10% of the total grant has not been used, then the full amount of unused funds must be repaid to SI. Repayment shall be made via UD-EKO. When repaying, enter the name of the toolkit and the name of your organisation in the notification field, and notify the project manager in question.
