When this is the case information is provided in connection with the downloading of the resource. In such cases, the additional terms prevail over these terms and conditions of use.
Terms and conditions in brief: The resources on Sharing Sweden may be used for non-commercial purposes to present Sweden to an international audience. Marketing of products or services is prohibited. Resources from Sharing Sweden may not be used in Sweden for a Swedish target audience. When an image is used, the name of the photographer or artist shall be shown in conjunction with the image. The user of a resource must download it from Sharing Sweden and accept the terms and conditions of use. The user is responsible for compliance with the terms and conditions of use. User User means the person, organisation or company that uses the resources. The user is solely responsible for all use of resources from Sharing Sweden and for compliance with the terms and conditions of use.
Personal data Images and videos showing identifiable individuals may constitute personal data. As such, use of and participation in any material or other images and videos on Sharing Sweden, is subject to the Swedish Institute's privacy policy .
Use of resources from Sharing Sweden Resources entails photos, videos, print files, and other promotion material, made available on this website.
Resources from Sharing Sweden may be used free of charge for the purpose of promoting Sweden to an international audience unless other terms and conditions have been specified for a particular resource. Resources may not be used in a context aimed at Swedish audiences in Sweden. However, use for Swedish-speaking audiences abroad is permitted. Use in a commercial context in which Sweden is promoted may in certain cases be permitted, if approved by the Swedish Institute.
The above-stated applies to both printed and digital use, and shall apply in conjunction with the restrictions set forth below.
Rights, limitations, and data storage The user acquires a non-exclusive and non-transferable right to resources from Sharing Sweden.
The user may not store resources, for example an image, for other purposes than the specific use which was contemplated at the time of downloading. Otherwise, to ensure that it remains available and to obtain any new terms and conditions associated with the resource, it must be downloaded from Sharing Sweden again before it may be used.
The Swedish Institute reserves the right to prohibit a specific user from using the resources provided and to withdraw rights to certain individual resources without any further explanation. In conjunction with such a withdrawal, the user shall delete the downloaded resource, and, to the extent that it is possible, remove it from where it is used.
Indication of name for images The name of the photographer or artist shall be indicated as close to the image as possible. Where no indication of name has been provided, the user may be charged for the omission of the creator’s and/or rightsholder’s name.
Disclaimer The Swedish Institute shall not be liable for loss of access to images and videos, due to technical faults, force majeure or other circumstances.
The Swedish Institute shall not be liable for inaccurate image information, which is due to incorrect information supplied by third parties.
Improper use The resources may not be used in any manner or context which might be perceived as offensive, misleading, or illegal (for example, pornographic or obscene). The resources may not be used in such a manner that may offend or be defamatory to the photographer, artist, and/or people depicted in the material.
The user is liable for any claims for damages which may arise because of claims brought by copyright holders or people depicted in the resources due to improper use.
Copyright Most resources on Sharing Sweden may be reproduced, transmitted, displayed, published, or broadcast, as long as the resources are used for non-commercial purposes to an international audience to promote Sweden abroad. However, certain resources, such as example images and videos, are subject to specific copyright terms and conditions. In these cases, the terms and conditions are provided in connection with the downloading of the resource.
Disputes Disputes concerning the interpretation or application of these terms and conditions shall be adjudicated under Swedish law by the Stockholm District Court.
